I'm sorry this is happening in your life. These people claim to be Christian, but by their behavior it's obvious they don't know God. God is about love, not judging. Jesus said many times not to judge others. It's clear that they do not understand him.

shunning normal people now??
by chellechelle insorry i posted another one it was a mistake, i clicked enter by accident...... anyways, the dubs are getting closer and closer to shunning everyone not jsut those who have been disfellowshipped or left the religion.
today i got a phone call from my grandmother that one of her best friends can no longer talk to her anymore.
my grandmother always didnt like the fact that my family were jw's but she was always respectful to everyone and kept her views to herself.

After reading the 3/15 reference in Blondie's comment I'm left with a question. Would a JW say there is only 906 years left in Christ's 'thousand year reign'? At what point would they start to notice a problem if nothing happens?

Appropriate attire for females................?
by Vachi 8 He Is inso i went to pick my aunt up from the diamond lane pick up point on wednesday and i ask her if her witness buddy is going to pick her up.
she says "no i don't want to call her because i'm going home to change and that'll make her late.
" so i chime in "why don't you wear what you have on?

Of course if that story about the man and his cell phone had been told at the kingdom hall and involved a brother, then it would have been clear that it was all Jehovah's doing.

Germany Drops Attempt to Ban Scientology
by cameo-d inexcerpt from the article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27843485/.
germany had said it considers scientology to be in conflict with the principles of the nation's constitution, calling it less a church than a business that uses coercion to take advantage of vulnerable people.. a report on extremism last charged that scientology "seeks to limit or rescind basic and human rights, such as the right to develop one's personality and the right to be treated equally.".
the church of scientology has long battled to end the surveillance, saying it is an abuse of freedom of religion, and the u.s. state department regularly criticizes germany for the practice in its annual human rights report.. .

Maybe I should consider joining Scientology. With all this persecution, they must be the 'true' religion!

OMG! a horrible lie in the July WT with a jesus pic....
by oompa inbad day today...how the hey did everyone miss this??
?....or did i miss a post about it?.....i am not supposed to talk about anything jw with my hardcore jw wife...but while on the toilet takin care of biz..i was reading the lit she leaves in a basket...it was a wt..july 08, but dont know which one....once i showed it to her it disappeared...but damm the last page i think... it had a drawing of jesus and the text under it said this "jesus used the name jehovah in his prayers"....or close....and that is a fluckkin lie!...zero support for it!...so i said just freakin show me where he did...i think my pants were still down...i had already come to terms with the fact that jesus never once uttered the name jehovah ever...because what kid...esp in a serious discussion with his dad (like prayer) would ever call him by his first name???
?...she disagreed...how i dont know...but where is the evidence that jesus ever said the divine name in a prayer?!?!!??

Even if its not the truth its still the best way of life!
by mtsgrad incomplete the following:.
even if its not the truth...... .
.

Mrs. Fiorini
I can't count the JW's I've known who have said that. I don't know what's sadder, thinking the WT has the truth, or thinking that being lied to and manipulated by the organization is the best way of life. They sure do a number on people!

Leave silently or loudly: that is the question
by Hiddenwindow insince the wt has always capitalized on secrecy, aren't we playing into their game when we leave silently?
wouldn't it be better to make as much noise as possible when leaving?
it would be of great help if each individual who leaves for matters of conscience or disagreement with doctrine wrote a letter to his entire congregation and family explaining his view on the issues.

Good point. If circumstances make it appropriate, it could help some others to leave too.

Jesus DID doubt Jehovah and himself "why has thou forsaken me."
by Witness 007 injesus asked that "lord if this cup can be taken from my....but as you will it.
" and ofcourse while hanging he said "lord lord why have you forsaken me.
" but the watchtower puts a positive spin on this saying he as god's son wasn't doubting or changing his mind...what do you think?

My understanding of that passage, which I gained only after leaving the Watchtower, is that Jesus last words were a reciting of Psalm 22.

I love life, I love humans!
by Gladring ini'm quite a laid back person and am usually happy to sit back and take it all in but i feel i have to speak up.
i believe everyone is entitled to their opinions and do not like censorship.
i have been disturbed by the increasing number of misleading posts defending the wtbts.

Mrs. Fiorini
That's such a good point about loving life and loving humans. If you had only one word to describe the philosophy of Jesus and Christianity, it would be love.
A belief that at any moment God is going to execute the vast majority of human life on earth, from babies to grandparents, prevents people from fully experiencing and feeling that love.
Leaving the Watchtower has been such an incredible gift!! -

Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful opportunity for you to actually be there! Mr. Fiorini and I watched it at home together. When it was announced, we let out a scream, gave each other a high five and a big hug and kiss. Then, after I sat down, the tears came. I have never felt this way about an election before. This has been so long overdue. Finally hope has returned!!
